Disclaimer
DSlot is beta software, offered as it is, with no promises: what that means for you.
DSlot is beta software, offered as it is, with no warranty of any kind. It is made in the open and given away; nobody promises that it works, that it is fit for any purpose, or that it won’t lose your data. You use it at your own risk.
In particular🔗
- Writing an image erases the card. Back up anything on it first. An update keeps your games and saves, but keep your own copy of anything that matters, saves included.
- It runs your device in ways its maker didn’t. It drives the screens, the charging, the sound and the radios with its own software. It is tested on our own devices, but a fault could drain the battery, lose data, or in the worst case harm the device.
- Things change. Betas come with known problems (Known issues), and later releases may change how things work.
- Support is best-effort, through GitHub issues.
As far as the law allows, nobody who makes or distributes DSlot or nibOS is liable for any damage or loss that comes from using it. The licences each part comes under say the same in their own words: the GPL’s and the MIT licence’s “no warranty” sections apply in full (Licences).
Games, BIOS and other people’s things🔗
- DSlot comes with no games and no BIOS or firmware files from any console maker. It is up to you to have the right to the games and files you put on your card.
- DSlot is not affiliated with Anbernic, Nintendo, Sega, Sony, RetroAchievements or anyone else whose devices, games or services it works with. Their names and trademarks are theirs, used here only to say what DSlot works with.
- Services DSlot can use, like RetroAchievements and GitHub, are run by others under their own terms. What DSlot sends them is on the Privacy page.
